How to Request Account and Data Deletion
At Fathom Bay, you have the right to request deletion of your account and associated data. This page explains how to submit a deletion request.
Step 1: Send a Deletion Request
To request deletion of your account, please send an email to:
In your email, include:
- Your full name
- Your email address registered with Fathom Bay
- A statement confirming you want to delete your account
Step 2: Account Verification
We will respond to your email within 5 business days to verify your identity and confirm your request.
Step 3: Data Deletion Processing
Once your request is confirmed, we will process the deletion within 30 days as required by GDPR and CCPA regulations.
What Gets Deleted
The following data will be deleted when you request account deletion:
- Your user account and profile
- Your email address
- Your bookings and reservations
- Your form responses and participant information
- Any OAuth connections
What Does NOT Get Deleted
The following data may be retained for legal compliance and will be anonymized:
- Liability waivers: Retained for 3 years (scuba diving liability requirements)
- Tax records: Retained for 7 years (IRS requirements)
- Anonymized booking history: Used for statistical analysis only
These records are retained in anonymized form, meaning your name and email are removed, but transaction dates and equipment usage statistics may remain.
Confirmation
Once your data has been deleted, we will send you a confirmation email. Please keep this email as proof of deletion.
